Moravian Conference on Environmental Stewardship
March 5-7, 2010
Higgins Lodge
Today we live in a technological world that has separated us from a life that only a generation ago was much more connected to the natural world. We struggle personally, corporately and spiritually in the church to be the Christian stewards of God's world that we are called by God to be. Yet our common life in congregations brings together many gifts and opportunities for caring for creation as well as for forming effective environmental stewards to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
The Moravian Conference on Environmental Stewardship, co-sponsored by Laurel Ridge and the provincial Commission on Church and Society, will bring together Moravians from across many congregations who share a passion and desire to grow intentional environmental stewardship ministry in the local church and share ideas and resources that will enhance and empower this important work.
Thanks to a donor whose generosity has underwritten part of the expense for this event, the registration cost for the weekend is $75 per person, double occupancy in the Salem Wing at Higgins Lodge. The conference begins with dinner on Friday evening, March 5 and runs through brunch on Sunday morning, March 7.
Registration materials are available at www.laurelridge.org and from the Board of Christian Education at 336-722-8126.
